Quick Start Guide

Navigating USHIK

USHIK is separated into functional areas of interest called Portals. To navigate within or between the different portals in USHIK, hover over the Portal of interest in the blue navigation bar at the top. A list of available links within that portal will appear beneath the navigation bar for your selection.

Using USHIK List Features

To view a list of artifacts within a portal, highlight the portal of interest and click any of the links under the ... Artifacts heading. To select an item for download or comparison, check the checkbox on the left of the list and click on the Compare/Download Selected button at the top right of the list navigation bar. Note: multiple items can be compared/downloaded at any given time, but increasing the number of items selected will affect the time it takes to complete the action.

To filter the list into a smaller, more usable subset use the list filters at the top of the filterable columns. Note: Not all columns within USHIK have filters enabled. There are two types of filters within USHIK, a keyword filter and a Multi-select Filter. Columns with a keyword filter have a text box at the top of the column. To use this filter click within the text box and enter a keyword to filter the column on. Any item that contains the entered keyword within that field will be returned. Columns with a Multi-select filter will have a dropdown at the top of the column. Clicking the dropdown will produce a list of values that can be used to filter this column. Select the values you wish to filter on and click the Apply Filters button.

To sort a list, click the sort descending order or sort ascending order in the header of the column you wish to sort on.

Viewing Artifacts in USHIK

Artifacts can be viewed by clicking the link to the item in the list page, or by searching for the specific item using the USHIK search feature in the top right of the page.
